The Soundsslike Project, led by Pınar Çevikayak Yelmi under the supervision of Professors Nina Ergin, Sertaç Kakı, and Asım Evren Yantaç at Koç University, explores the sonic identity of Istanbul through an academic lens. This doctoral research delves into the city's auditory landscape, documenting its diverse soundscape as a cultural and historical archive. The study combines field recordings, ethnographic methods, and critical sound studies to analyze how urban environments shape and are shaped by their sonic environments. The project contributes to academic discourse on urban acoustics and offers a multidisciplinary framework for understanding the interplay between sound, space, and identity in Istanbul.
